Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for gifted people to help serve in our ministry. Some of the areas where we need help are:
- Board Members - Our board is a team with many positions. We need dedicated Christians to make a commitment to 3 year term. We are looking for diverse gifts such as (but not limited to): attorneys, accountants, banking, computers, graphics, help writing newsletters, grant writing, communication, medical field, etc. Board and committee involvement involves meeting monthly or BI-monthly as projects would arise. Board Meetings generally last 2 hours on Saturday morning. Committee work time varies - often early coffee or breakfast meetings.
- Office Help - Administrative assistant or volunteer office manager needed. Opportunities for help are varied, and include planning, office setup, building databases, developing PowerPoint presentations, preparing flyers, etc. Experience with the following is helpful: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, Quickbooks 2000. Hours are as many or as few as you can give.
- Auxiliary Support Group - We need help in forming an auxiliary support group for the ministry. This group would help in organizing special events and in fundraising activities.
- Professional Services - Do you have a professional skill which would help our ministry? We Care Ministries can always use help in many areas. Not sure if you could help? Just ask!
Giving Opportunities
You don't have to be rich to give to our ministry. No gift is too small. We put every penny to use! Here are some of the ways you can give to We Care Ministries:
- Direct Donation - By cash, checks, or other gifts payable to We Care Ministries, PO box 13353, Shawnee Mission, KS 66282-3353.
- United Way Donor Choice - Ask your United Way Coordinator for a donor choice card to designate all or part of your United Way donation. Check the non-united way agency box and write in the space below: We Care Ministries, Inc. (ID # 9509) address: 9105 West 104th Terrace, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
- Combined Federal Campaign (Federal employees only) - We Care is an approved CFC agency, listed in your Kansas City area CFC catalog. Follow CFC guidelines to designate your gift to We Care Ministries, Inc. Agency # 5053. Please notify us of your intentions.
- Appreciated Assets - (stocks, bonds, etc.) may be donated to Servant Communiy Foundation. Please contact SCCF direct (913) 310-0279 to state your intentions to contribute to the "We Care Love Fund", they will work with you to accomplish this. Funds donated this way will be credited to the We Care Love Fund #351953, which is a fund to provide ministry and care to those in need. These donations may bring significant income tax deductions at their fair-market value.
- Non-Cash Gifts - Many individuals and churches donate new and used property to the ministry, including office equipment (supplies, computers, software, etc.), furniture, durable medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, etc.). These items should be in good, working, usable condition.
- Church Donations - Contact your church's governing body to have We Care included in your church's outreach budget.
